If you’re going to try a drugstore brand, NYX is a must have…
While a lot of drugstore makeup falls a mile away from the quality of high end makeup, there are some brands that provide a high quality product at an incredibly low price. NYX has consistently proved to be a brand that produces incredible products, some to rival those of incredibly high quality brands. From their liquid lipsticks to their brow products, NYX has truly taken over the beauty scene. Being a missive lover of their Soft Matte Lip Cremes, I thought it was time to check to a few of their other products. I picked up a few different bits but by far the most intriguing was their contour kit.
Now contour kits are by no means a new concept to the beauty industry. ABH does them, as does Kat Von D, Too Faced, Tarte, Makeup Revolution, etc. The list goes on and on. I’ve dabbled with many different types of contour products, but none ever from a drugstore brand. I’d never seen anything that I was very impressed with or had a dying urge to try but after spotting this contour kit, that changed. I picked this particular kit up in Target but anywhere there is a NYX stand, you can find this product. I only got it a couple days ago but so far I’ve been very impressed with the quality.
The palette comes with eight powders: four highlighters and four contour shades. I’m incredible impressed with the pigmentation of the powders as well as their range of colors. Whether you’re pale, tan or dark skinned, this kit has a contour shade that is suitable. As for the highlighters, I adore the first two, they give such a pretty glow. The other two are very pretty but slightly less pigmented than the first two.
There isn’t much that I don’t like about this kit. It’s got simple packaging which is perfectly fine but there is no mirror which is only slightly annoying but not reason enough to not buy this palette. Other than that, I really don’t have any complaints, especially since it’s only $20. Total steal!
